Print By Mail End User Workflow

In the case of corporate users, the user can login to a network printer with their corporate credentials and locate their print job in the queue. For guest users, the return email from SLNX also includes a release PIN that the user will have to enter to release their print job after accessing the printer with guest access.

The table below presents the workflow of the Print By Mail feature from the user’s perspective.

Task or Action

  1. User sends email with attachment to specify email address.

  1. MIE Server receives email message and identifies user.

  1. MIE Server responds with email back to user with either confirmation or PIN code. The email subject will be ‘RICOH-SLNX-PrintByMail-Confirmation’

  1. A: User logs in to printer with credentials. If guest user, user enters PIN to release job.

OR

  1. B. If “Direct Print” is checked, the print job is released to the device.

  1. User selects print job from the secure queue and releases the job.

  1. Once printed, job is removed from the secure queue.
